So ignoring the fact that I last blogged before Christmas and it is now Easter, let me just say,

HAPPY EASTER!

And we'll pretend the last 4 months of silence didn't elapse. Ok?

Sometimes, when you have a horrible Friday filled with extra long meetings, bad news, accidentally switched off crock pots and arguments; and then you try to go Christmas tree shopping; and the whole thing ends in tears and hurt feelings for everybody; and you don't even come home with a tree, you go again on Sunday.

And this time there is snow. And snow ball fights.

And selfies.

And you find the perfectly imperfect tree.

I put a spell on you...

Because you're mine...

It was a much more laid back Halloween this year. That's what happens when it falls on a Monday, I guess.

It was also a lot warmer. Which felt unusual. And a bit un-Halloween. But I have to admit, not being bundled up in 15 layers was actually very nice.

Elli and her best-est friend dressed up in their Penguin ballet costumes. They were so cute. And so excited to match. But by the end of the night they were getting a bit tired of being asked if they were sisters or twins.

Once again, we had somewhere between 450 and 500 trick or treaters.

However, we were prepared. With 15 lbs. of candy we did not run out or have to make an emergency grocery store trip.

All in all, it was another festive and fun Halloween Night!

Hike.

Before this mellow fall completely winds down and the trees are completely bare we went out into the woods. And kicked through pathways of wet, ankle deep leaves. And watched the squirrels and the birds in their frenzy of foraging. And breathed in the soon to be dormant scents of mud and moss.

It was grand.

A few ragged blooms left out there.

These have been on permanent rotation lately.

I may have bribed someone into walking 4+ miles with the promise of hot chocolate in the woods.

Last year's pressed leaves, Washi tape and a sunny window equal some very spontaneous, low maintenance fall decoration.
