Another Anniversary.

Time just continues to fly by.
It's hard to believe we've been here on Columbus Circle for 2 years.
And yet we still feel that same tingle of disbelief every time we turn onto the street...
"We actually live here?"

Paleo Vanilla Scone

Perfect, eaten in a civilized, nearly proper-English fashion, for breakfast. With lots of dairy free butter. And a strong cup of tea. Seated on the patio. While blinking up into the bright, late Spring sun.
Equally perfect, eaten in the more typical fashion, over the sink. Standing in the kitchen. In about three bites. While going between about seven different tasks.

Recipe below.
I made the powdered sugar icing for only the ones my gluten free but not sugar free daughter ate.

This week was…

...long neighborhood walks and adventurous hikes in the sunshine,

the scent of freshly mown grass and lilacs in the evenings and eating breakfast outside,

visiting with neighbors and feeding ducks,

shopping for roses and eating ice cream, under the stars, out in the hammock,

so much time spent outside and the promise of even more to come...

There can never be too many flower photos...

...can there?

Not when they look like this, I daresay.

This was my Mother's Day gift.

Welllll... not THIS this. Not the glass.
No, I got a glass cutting kit.
And with it I MADE this.
Out of a Mexican Coke bottle.
Pretty neat, huh?
Not to mention, green.

Paleo Mayonnaise

Actually, it's one step beyond Paleo Mayonnaise because it's eggless.
And while it won't fool you into thinking you're eating the real deal, in any kind of blind taste test, it is completely delicious.
Definitely more nuanced and complex.
And the prefect thing for the start of grilling season.

“Well, let it pass, he thought; April is over, April is over.
There are all kinds of love in the world, but never the
same love twice."

--The Sensible Thing” ― F. Scott Fitzgerald

Did you know Daffodils came in this creamy and solid shade of not-quite-white-not-quite-yellow?
I didn't.
Nor, did I know they could smell like Lilies.
Pleasant discoveries, both...
